A PCC report on Climate Change initiatives
In May 2019 the PCC consider a notice of motion relating to climate change. Point 1 – Declaring a Climate Emergency went to the vote and was approved. Point 4 – Call on WG and UK Governments to provide the necessary support and resources to enable effective carbon reductions was also approved. Points 2, 3, 5 & 6 were referred to the cporporate overview and Scrutiny committee. they poduced this report and are currently working on a plan to present for approval to the PCC in July.

Objections to the Waterloo Incinerator
Baracud Energy Ltd have applied for planning permission for a pyrolysis incinerator and
power plant burning refinery oily sludge and waste (filter cake). The proposed plant is to be
sited at Waterloo Industrial Estate close to the Prince’s Trust Watersports Centre and
within the town of Pembroke Dock. The plant will generate 6mw of power. Supporters
argue that it is a clean technology making use of a by-product of oil refining and creating
jobs but we believe it is the wrong technology in the wrong place.
